TAMPOPO

TAMPOPO

A little bit strange, but very tasteful. That's Tampopo, one of our high lights of culinary cinema. The perfection of Cinema Culinair fits perfectly with the perfection in the Japanese cuisine, with a bit of tongue in cheek. The film is a great take on Japan in the eighties.

FILM & DINER EVENT IN HET TOLHUIS
AMSTERDAM OP 24 februari 2024

What you see, is what you eat.
Good film, good food, great timing.

GOOD FILM

A little strange, but nice. That goes for Tampopo, one of our highlights. In Tampopo, the Japanese director Jûzô Itami lets you enjoy culinary perfection. This 1985 comedy is about a woman, Tampopo, who strives for the perfect noodle restaurant. A wonderful film for anyone who loves film, food or Japan. As the winner of the Japanese Oscar, this is a classic not to be missed at Cinema Culinair. A slice of the eighties in Japan, performed as sketches. You don't just want to see that film, you have to taste it.

The film is Japanese spoken and Dutch subtitled

GOOD FOOD

Food plays a major part in this film and the dishes are varied. Prepared with love (as in the film) and that's what you taste. Japanese perfection. Enjoy with all your senses.

GREAT TIMING

What you see is what you eat, at the same time. The culinary script of Cinema Culinair is leading for the chef and his crew: timing is of the essence.

Good film + good food + great timing. The point is in the latter. One example. When Gori tastes his soup at minute 4 and 34 seconds, you will do the same. One minute earlier or later makes all the difference between good and fabulous! In the end it’s all about the extrasensory sensation; you see, hear, taste, smell and feel the film.

GREAT LOCATION

In februari mogen we Het TOLHUIS onveilig gaan maken in Amsterdam.
